What is epithalon?
Epithalon (also written epitalon or epithalone) is a synthetic tetrapeptide — just four amino acids, Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly — modelled on epithalamin, a pineal-gland extract from decades of Russian gerontology research. Its claim to fame is telomerase: in cell-culture studies epithalon activated telomerase and elongated telomeres in human somatic cells, one of the earliest and most-cited peptide findings in telomere biology.
The surrounding literature spans melatonin regulation, circadian normalization, and lifespan studies in animal models. It remains a staple of longevity catalogues worldwide, and one of the most requested compounds in ours.
